Is This the Right Fit for You?
Starting therapy is a meaningful and brave step, and it's important to find the right space and person to support you. To help you decide if working together might be a good fit, here are some questions to consider before reaching out or scheduling a session.
These are not a test or checklist — just a guide to help you understand the kind of care I offer, and whether it matches the support you're needing right now.
What brings you to therapy?
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, low, or disconnected?
Are you looking for a space to process ongoing life stressors, relationship patterns, grief, or identity questions?
Do you find yourself thinking things like, “I’m exhausted all the time,” or “Nothing feels meaningful anymore,”and want help making sense of that?
If you're looking for a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore your emotional experience, work through patterns, and build insight at your own pace — we may be a good fit.
Do you feel emotionally safe enough to be in your own care between sessions?
Can you generally manage day-to-day functioning, even if things feel heavy or hard?
Are you experiencing passive suicidal thoughts, or are these thoughts becoming more persistent, with increasing intensity or the urge to act on them?
While passive suicidal thoughts can be common for those who struggle with depression and can often be safely processed in session together, when they become more frequent, intense, or involve a sense of intent or plan, it may indicate the need for more immediate, in-person care.
If this sounds like what you're going through, Telehealth may not be the safest option for you right now. Please know you deserve support that truly meets your needs. For resources on higher-level care, please refer to my Support When You Need It page.
Does Telehealth feel accessible and comfortable to you?
My practice is fully virtual, which means all sessions take place over secure video. Many clients find this format to be a cozy and accessible way to show up for themselves — whether from the comfort of home, a quiet office, or a space that feels safe and familiar.
That said, therapy is deeply personal, and it’s important that the setting feels right for you. Take a moment to consider:
Do you have a private, quiet space where you can speak openly during session?
Do you have a reliable computer, tablet, or device with a private and secure internet connection to ensure a smooth experience?
Does the idea of talking with someone over video feel comfortable enough for you to share what’s on your mind?
Can you imagine still feeling connected, seen, and supported even without being in the same room?
Telehealth offers flexibility and consistency for many, but it’s completely okay if you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit for you. During a consultation, we can discuss your concerns and explore what will work best for your needs.
Are you looking for a therapy approach that’s tailored to you, combining insight, practical tools, and collaboration to help you create lasting change?
In my practice, I use an eclectic approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs and goals. I blend techniques from ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based methods to create an approach that works best for you, rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
Key highlights of this approach include:
Insight and self-awareness: We’ll work together to explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping you gain clarity and make meaningful changes in your life.
Acceptance and mindfulness: Incorporating ACT and mindfulness techniques, we’ll focus on cultivating acceptance of difficult emotions and thoughts, while also learning how to live more fully in the present moment.
Practical strategies for change: Using CBT and other tools, we’ll develop concrete strategies to address specific challenges, helping you feel more empowered to manage stress, anxiety, or other struggles.
Collaboration: Therapy is a partnership, and I believe in working together to ensure that the process is a fit for you. We’ll regularly check in to ensure that we’re moving toward your goals in ways that resonate.
Each person is unique, and our work together will reflect that. If you're looking for an approach that’s flexible and adaptive to your individual needs, this could be a good fit for you.
